Waterproofing means your shoes are built to block out fresh water — rain, slush, and puddles — under specific conditions. But when road/sidewalk salt enters the mix, it’s a whole different story. Salt can dry out materials, leave white marks, and even cause corrosive damage to the leather and stitching over time.

✨ Golden Tips for Fighting Salt Stains:

▪️Pre-treat: Use a water and stain repellent before wearing your shoes out in the muck. Also reapply once every 2-3 weeks during the winter.

▪️Wipe Early: After exposure, wipe your shoes with a damp cloth (not soaked!) to remove salt before it sets.

▪️Deep Clean: For stubborn stains, mix equal parts white vinegar and water, dab gently, and let air dry.

▪️Condition: Keep leather nourished with a conditioner to prevent cracking due to salt exposure.
