If you decided to purchase a pair of Birkenstock do not leave them in your vehicle on hot days or in direct sun as the soles will shrink (leading to a costly repair). Also be wary of resting your feet by campfires or heating elements in your home; if your Birkenstock get wet simply let them air dry before wearing them again and you will have your shoes for a long time.
